In November I retured to teach at the Dance and participation master at the Danish Academy of performing arts. Last year we did a mapping of radical and critical pedagogies, letting the students’ different interests guide the way. This year it was time for a deep dive. We did a slow, collective, close reading of Engaged Pedagogy by bell hooks. Inspired by Gert Biesta we choose concepts to care for as tamagotchis. We worked with drawing to reflect on how we construct our classrooms, how we enter and exit, what is inside and outside. And we wrote our own “coming to”-stories with bell hooks writing as a grid.
